This is the number one question I am always ask. I am sure that all the craftsmen out there are asked this question at one time.
For me there are four parts. 1 – Scouring. 2 – Choosing the draft (pattern) and dressing the loom. 3 – Weaving. 4 – Finish work.
This is a group of nine comfort blankets for the children. The most overlooked part of weaving the blankets (imo) is the finish work. The knots, trim the ends, wash, dry and get ready for delivery. The amount of time varies depending on the thickness of the yarn, the lighter the blanket the longer it takes ( more threads per inch).
What you see is starting of the finishing process. For these weaving’s I will be using an overhand knot with six threads per knot. That means I will be tying over 1600 knots before going to the next step.
